Brief Description of Activity:
Students will go to this website during their computer time. First they will go to the Nutrition tab and click on the Tour the Food Groups link. I will ask them to click on each food group and read about it. After that they will go to the Activity tab where they are free to do which ever activities they like. The activities are a great way of formal assessment while still being fun.
General Learner Outcomes:
Students will make responsible and informed choices to maintain health and to promote safety
for self and others.
Specific Learner Outcomes:
Students will apply guidelines from Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating to individual nutritional circumstances; e.g., active children eat/drink more
ICT Outcomes:
P.6.4.1 | select and use the appropriate technologies to communicate effectively with a targeted audience |
P.5.1.2 access hyper linked sites on an intranet or the Internet
Rational for Computer Integration:
Technology makes this lesson possible for students to work at their own pace and play the games that they like. It is an interactive activity and will encourage the students to be independent learners.

ReplyDeletePlan is well laid out and easy to follow. GLO's and SLO's are kept well in mind. Activity uses an appropriate amount of time, with lots of available sponge activities.
ReplyDeleteHow are you assessing the students results on the games? Can you have a higher-level conversation with the class after computer time about good foods and unhealthy foods?
